A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
