Meanwhile, nearly one thousand residents in Victoria also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area saw its wettest day in 18 months.
State Emergency Services handled 598 requests for assistance across the state, primarily for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across multiple regions of both regions.
